This is the most comfortable sleep mat I've ever used.
Its size precludes carrying on expeditions and wild camping but that's not the point for me. As a DofE assessor/supervisor I spend a variety of nights out under canvas and a good night's sleep is very important so I am on top form the next day. My other brand sleeping mats were 20+ years old and I'm not getting any younger so comfort is vital and the XL Exped gives me that comfort. I sleep in various positions but mainly on my side and this mat allows me to do that without my shoulders and hips pressing through to the ground. When sleeping on my back I don't like to have my arms and hands on the floor of my tent and this mat, due to its width has solved that issue too. A nice touch is the supplied pump so I can top the mat up to my desired level of firmness and I don't have to worry about getting mould inside the mat. As far as Hill and Dale are concerned I think they are a top notch organisation, easy to order, good comms and delivered on time - I have recommended H&D to my colleagues and friends.
