Zamberlan 309 New Trail Lite GTX Walking Boots

Hill and Dale's service was excellent and I'm delighted with my new Zamberlan boots. This is the third pair I've had in the last 25 years or so . The size 42 Zamberlan standard last fits my feet perfectly and the new pair are as comfortable as a pair of slippers straight out of the box. No 'breaking in' necessary, just put them on and off to the hills (or, since I live in Cornwall, the coast path).

Great boot. Can see where the difference in cost is for more expensive boots, but for my use, it’s to great value, single piece, full grain leather with a decent (again not top grade) sole. Has a degree of flexibility in it, so depends what you are looking for. Has taken a couple of walks to break in, but very comfy, fit as expected both length and width.how the tongue folds at back of toes is least favourite part, but hasn’t caused a problem - I’m just aware of it

After nearly 30 years my well used Zamberlan boots finally gave up the ghost. So far the replacement Zamberlan 309 New Trail Lite GTX Walking Boots fantastic. Very comfortable, lightweight and smart.

Great walking boots, not too fancy just does the job and wear well
Need to go up a size for comfortable fit and allow time to wear them in gradually.
Pleased they are still available.

Second pair. These boots are perfect for my foot shape.
Hill & Dale were good value.

These boots are excellent for rambling and hill walking and are my second pair. The first pair lasted from 1986 with only 1 pair of replacement soles and heels.

Received boots, both boots were scuffed and scratched.
Contacted Hill & Dale, advised to return the boots, boots returned on 26.09.22.
Awaiting replacement.

These are my third Zamberlan boots, and second pair of 309s. I was delighted to find that Zamberlan still made them... even if a little surprised as it's a good few years since I bought my last ones. I've had great use out of my previous ones, and they are the most comfortable walking boots I have ever had. Just slipped my feet in and apart from giving them a bit of conditioning I was ready for a good hike, and unsurprisingly never a blister in sight. Fantastic!

This is my second pair of Zamberlan 'Lite' walking boots, purchased from Hill and Dale. I first came across Zamberlan boots about six years ago when I was recommended to buy their GTX walking boots for a trip to the Italian Dolomites. They proved to be very good for walking in rugged mountain conditions, and I still wear them in the UK for winter walking, But I found them a little heavy for summer conditions when walking in the Scottish hills. The trail lite boots are more comfortable for warmer weather and perhaps a less challenging underfoot terrain. But while they are lighter there is no compromise in quality. The boots are very well made with the right amount of rigidity and foot protection. I am also very pleased with the second pair of new trail boots, particularly as the pattern and depth of tread of the new Vibram sole has improved to provide more grip in wet weather. I would recommend these boots to anyone for serious walking in almost all weather conditions in the UK.

Unfortunately I wore them outside on several occasions and eventually it transpired they were too small.
Apart from the size being 47 rather than the 48 I think I need, they were ideal.
Do you have a returns policy that would enable me to correct my mistake, please?

I have never bought shoes on line before as worry about the fit. These were the same as my old pair and fit perfectly. They have a one piece tongue and upper so are waterproof up to the ankles. Looked after property the will give years of service.
