Activo Lady GTX walking shoe features:
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion
In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.
An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.
Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.
You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

I love Meindl wide fitting walking shoes and boots. I searched and found these online. I then found them in a 'high street' shop and went to try them on. Not happy that the shop wanted £34 more than hillanddaleoutdoors I decided to buy them from hillanddale. I phoned to check they had them in stock, though didn't really need to as the website clearly stated they were in stock. The guy I spoke to was very helpful. I ordered before 2pm and they arrived the next day. Such fantastic service!
The shoes themselves are also brilliant! I went straight into wearing them all week, in mountainous terrain and towns with no major issues. What is so nice is they feel and look like a trainer but act like a walking shoe. They are so comfy. It's nice to wear them about town without standing out. I love that they are easy to put on as the laces open easily and it's reassuring knowing the goretex lining will keep my feet dry.
Highly recommend these shoes and will definitely buy from hillanddaleoutdoors again in the future.

These are high quality walking shoes, comfortable and stylish. They have a wide fitting, good for someone with bunions. Hill and Dale offered an attractive price, but it took several weeks for the delivery to come through.
Love the fit and style of these shoes keep feet dry on very wet walks . Top of price range but well worth it .

Delighted with my Meindl Activo Lady GTX wide fit walking shoes and the customer service from Hill and Dale Outdoors was outstanding.
They arrived on time by courier, well packaged. I took the plunge and purchased these wider fit walking shoes. So far, I've worn them twice on short walks when the weather allowed. They were comfortable. and light to walk in. I found the height of the toe cap roomy , though I purchased size 6 instead of my usual 5 and I am glad I did.
It's always been difficult to find wider fit boots and shoes. Suddenly lI feel 'normal'!

Second pair of these shoes. Comfortable for my very wide feet. Good, solid shoe but waterproofing didn't last long on first pair. I'm hoping this pair will be better.
I bought these for when my current pair wear out. I walk daily on Dartmoor so they take some wear. Very comfortable from first wearing. Good waterproofing and the thing I like best of all, very good traction in the wet on the soles. For me, they are an excellent choice and fit. I wear them right through late spring to early winter, when it is too muddy and I have to switch to wellies.
Got them from Hill and Dale now, as they were great value. They will sit in their box until, my current pair wear out.

Having wide feet I have struggled all my life to find comfortable walking shoes and then I found these. Absolutely fantastic. I’m on my 5th pair. Generally buy a pair every other year - I’m an avid walker so they get a lot of use.
Excellent walking shoes. Lightweight and extremely comfortable. Waterproofing doesn’t last forever but by the time it wears out I have usually worn out the shoes! This is now my fourth pair. I order them from Hill and Dale as they offer the best price.

Ordered from Hill & Dale as the best price - good communication and speedy delivery. The toe box is wide and accommodates bunions etc. Just about to attempt first walk over 10k but so far comfortable apart from a little heel soreness which I will correct with an insole. Will always look at this site for future purchases.

The Meindl walking shoes were replacements as my old ones had worn out. I needed them quickly for a hiking holiday, so called Hill and Dale to ask if they could deliver sooner than expected. They were amazing and went out of their way to get them delivered to me. Excellent customer service.
The new Meindl shoes are perfect and I was able to put them on and go walking without any breaking-in. Love them. Well made, comfortable and the wide fit is an extra bonus
Haven't had a chance yet to test whether these are in fact waterproof, however I do like that they are lightweight and accommodate my bunion with no issues or pain at all. However, the balls of my feet have been left tingling after two 3 mile walks on mostly pavements/roads so far despite the Comfort insoles. I'm hoping that with further wear this will cease and I can wear for longer walks without discomfort, or otherwise I may have to look at purchasing additional insoles to see if these alleviates the issue, and certainly not the most comfortable like some other reviewers. I really hope that for me they do not end up being yet another pair of walking shoes/boots that I replace long before they are actually worn out just because I can't face being uncomfortable wearing them anymore. Can't fault service from order to receipt from Hill and Dale Outdoors.
This is my second pair of these trainers - the first has lasted 4 to 5 years of many many miles of dog walking over countryside terrain. I have the Meindl leather for winter time, but in fact the last couple of years I have stuck to using these trainers as they have proved so comfortable and water proof. They are robust yet light and have worn well. I usually take a 5, but these are 5.5 and just right. The service from Hill and Dale has been superb. I rang to check they were in stock - a real person went to check hands on and said they would be in the post that day. They were, and arrived within 48 hours with communications all the way. Thankyou.
Bought these for my wife to replace her previous pair which have been worn daily for dog walking until the sole and heel were worn flat. A couple of days of indoor wear to make sure there were no rubbing seams etc, then straight onto the feet and out the door. As with other reviewers, my wife has bunions which make the front of the foot very wide and she finds the comfort fit on these perfect.

I have very wide feet and continually struggle to find shoes that fir. I like a pair of "trainer" type shoes for every day wear but find other trainers (3ven when they say they are waterproof) let water in the minute I walk across wet grass. I bought a pair of these Activo Lady wide fit shoes over 2 years ago, and they have been brilliant. Now that the soles are wearing down I have bought an identical replacement pair. They are waterproof!
They are very comfortable and have good grip. Look good too! I’ve tried lots of walking shoes on and these give me width and space for my big toes, I suffer from ingrown toenails. Not stopped wearing them, good on all terrain. Can highly recommend.
Extremely comfortable from day 1. No wearing in necessary. Wide fit gives excellent toe and bunion room.
