The Veneto GTX is a women's wide fit trail boot from Meindl, excellent for those with wider feet. As part of the Comfort-Fit range, introduced to offer an easier, comfier wear, the Veneto GTX provide a supportive yet relaxed fit. Crafted by hand in Meindl’s German factory, the Veneto GTX is made from waxed Nubuck leather providing a classic style alongside durability and protection against abrasion. With the addition of a GORE-TEX lining the boot is fully waterproof and breathable. The Comfort-Fit footbed is made from cork and is more supportive than the standard footbed. It gives a wider surface area to stand on allowing for more movement of the toes and around the flex point, whilst keeping a firm hold around the heel. Adorned with a fleece lining this footbed makes the Veneto undeniably comfy and perfect for all day use. Complete with a Meindl Comfort Hiker II sole, giving fantastic traction on a variety of surfaces, the Veneto GTX is ideal for country walks and light hiking.

Veneto Lady GTX walking boot feature guide:
* Waxed Nubuck leather uppers
* GORE-TEX lining
* Comfort-Fit, cork and fleece footbed
* Meindl Comfort Hiker II
* Waterproof protection

Comfort Fit Range. Wider fit than the standard Meindl fit. Waxed Nubuck leather uppers with Gore-Tex lining. Meindl Comfort Fit Hiker 2 sole unit with Cork and fleece footbed for added comfort Meindl Rating: A - 470g

Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.

Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.

Caring for Smooth Leather Footwear

Caring for Smooth Leather Footwear

Leather needs regular ‘nutritional’ waxing. Meindl Sportwax or Grangers G-Wax is ideal. Apply when the footwear is dry using a clean lint free cloth. Remove or loosen the laces and don’t forget the tongue. It’s also a good idea to apply a little wax or Vaseline to any metal eyelets to help prevent corrosion.

To preserve the life of your footwear, it is important to regularly treat the leather to keep it nourished and help prevent it from drying out. All leather/nubuck will eventually harden and crack - especially in areas where the upper flexes during use. Regular use of a suitable leather conditioner will extend the time before which this flex cracking will occur.

Wax will change the appearance of the leather making it smoother and darker. This is perfectly normal.

Proper maintenance and care is a requirement of the manufacturers warranty.

Best fit I’ve ever had

I love walking and would have done more of it, had I not been in so much pain with my feet either being squashed or unsupported. These were comfortable to walk in from day one and I’ll certainly never buy any other ‘wide fit’ walking shoes at a similar price. I was initially disappointed at how quick they are to mark and scuff but a regular rub with beeswax seems to bring them up beautifully and, once I’ve had them a few months, they’re going to be well worn and scuffed anyway. Great service from H&DO, thank you, I’ll be back…😊

My second pair. Love these as much as the first pair. No breaking in needed for me, very comfortable, light and also smart. They don't look out of place in town or country.
Thank-you.

Wear them straight out of the box.

Replacement for same boots - it took me nearly four years to wear out the sole. (Also my puppy ate the tops off the tongues)
Fabulous fit for my wide size 7 feet, not too loose on the heel. Dry, comfy feet from day one.

Quality and comfort

I've always been a fan of Meindl and have had other types of their walking boots. The Veneto has definitely been the best for comfort. They're lighter weight and I can just put them on and go. They're so comfy. True to size and a slightly wider fit.

Comfortable but soaked.

I have never had as comfortable a fit as with these boots - they fit snugly but with plenty of wriggle room for the toes. No rubbing or pressure points even on the very first wearing on an all day walk. However, despite initial waterproofing before use, and the use of gaiters which prevent any water ingress from above, I spent the next five days, all rainy, with soaking feet. A bitter disappointment when the label declares "When it has to be waterproof this product is guaranteed to keep you dry - Goretex, durably waterproof."
