Worn only around the house so far, and are rather stiff at the ankle. Hoping to get out on the fells in September so I’ll know better if they are good for long distances.
I already have a pair of Terlans, they are very light and comfortable. Importantly, they are wide in the forefoot but snug on the heel. I walked many miles in them last year. They are great for coastal walking as they are quite good on rock/stones. However, this does mean the soles wear down quicker than on harder but less grippy boots. I have yet to investigate whether I can get them re-soled when necessary with Lancashire Sports Repairs recommended by Meindl. They live up to their A/B grading so a good compromise between everyday comfort and giving ankle support. I have to remove the insole as I need custom insoles but I still get good shock absorption from the midsole which isn’t always the case with some boots. The service from Hill and Dale was outstanding , I was amazed how quick I received the boots after ordering. Would have bought two pairs if they were in stock. Good price too. Five stars!
Fabulous boots comfortable and plenty of space for thick walking socks and enough room to move your toes even with a very wide foot. The sole moulds to your foot and the boot is extremely sturdy at the ankle to give full support without been uncomfortable… best pair of walking boots I’ve had
