The Journey Pro mens wide fitting shoe by Meindl is part of the Comfort-Fit Wellness Sport range, perfect for those with wider feet. With uppers made from a combination of lightweight mesh and Nubuck leather, the Journey Pro is durable and supportive with a modern sporty look. The GORE-TEX lining compliments this enhancing breathability and ensuring waterproof protection. The Air-Active Wellness Sport footbed goes one step ahead of other walking shoes, offering superb heel support and ensuring any unwanted moisture is wicked away in an instant. Complete with a Meindl Comfort Sport sole, the Journey Pro gives excellent traction on a variety of surfaces alongside a smooth roll. The sole has been spruced up with a touch of Comfort-Fit, providing EVA cushioning in the midsole alongside a sharp heel edge to aid descending. The Journey Pro is perfect for light hiking, leisurely walks and everyday wear.

Journey Pro walking shoe feature guide:
* Nubuck leather and mesh uppers
* GORE-TEX lining
* Air-Active Wellness Sport footbed
* Meindl Comfort Sport sole
* Waterproof protection

Wider fit than the standard Meindl fit. Velour leather and mesh uppers with waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex lining. Meindl Comfort Sport sole unit with optimum heel-to-toe motion. Air Active cork footbed for added comfort.

Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.

Great walking shoes

Comfortable, well made and the only ones I could find that are wide enough for my feet. Great purchase and good service from H&D.

Dodgy "cord" eyelets

My first impression was great and they fitted well but when I went to wear them properly (outdoors) one of the cord eyelets pulled straight out (I don't think it's a great idea, whatever happened to proper metal eyelets ?) !!! They have been returned but as it was a special order from Germany it's gonna take a few weeks to turn around 😕. Hill and Dale have been good but I'll wait and see what comes back from Germany??

SIZE ISSUES

Great looking shoe and looking forward to wearing them in the up and coming trip to the Rockies but having bought my regular size 11 found my toes were easily touching the end of the shoe.
Sent off for 11.5 and still touching the end, Im now awaiting the third pair. Having tried, Meindl, Lowa, Merrell and Clarks it would appear that specialised walking shoes come up small . I play golf in 10.5 wide Footjoys but now need a 12 walking shoe!!. I think the 11.5 Meindls are a close fit but although the shoe says comfort fit, (it is where the main foot is) the toe end of the shoe curves too much and catches my second toe. I now have to wait 4 weeks for size 12 . All shoes tried with a standard ankle sock and not a walking sock, and yes, postage is racking up !!!

A decent, rugged trail shoe

These replaced an older pair of Meindl shoes now discontinued - actually about the 8th pair of similar Meindl shoes I've had. The Comfort fit is excellent as usual for my wide feet and the shoes are very well made and waterproof as expected. Styling is now more at the outdoor/trecking end rather than a more general styling in earlier discontinued models. As part of this, the sides of the shoe under the ankle seem slightly higher and stiffer than expected and so are rubbing a bit on my ankle bone while wearing in. Otherwise excellent shoes as expected.
Very promt delivery from H&D.
