This refined version of the Meindl Burma boot offers exceptional support, durability, and versatility for year-round use. Crafted with top quality Nubuck leather, these boots provide maximum protection and stability on all terrain types, ensuring a comfortable walking experience.
Notable technical features include a GORE-TEX lining for waterproofing, a Digafix lacing system for a secure fit, an Air-Active footbed to prevent moisture build-up, and a Memory Foam System (MFS) around the ankle for added comfort.
These boots also feature a self-cleaning Vibram double density sole unit, which effectively sheds mud with every step and provides superior shock absorption and traction.
With a rating of 'B', these boots are suitable for daily wear as well as challenging hikes in low-level mountains.
Meindl Bhutan MFS Walking Boot features:
Sportwax is a leather conditioning and waterproofing product that can be easily applied with a sponge or cloth. Be sure to treat the tongues of your boots as well. It is unnecessary to heat the wax, as this may decrease the breathability of the boots. This treatment will result in a smoother and darker appearance of the leather, while also protecting the hooks and eyelets from corrosion.
Preserve the quality of your nubuck leather and suede with Meindl Conditioning and Proofing spray. Ensure long-lasting supple boots by applying treatment while uppers are slightly damp. Preserve hooks and eyelets with a thin layer of wax to prevent corrosion.
In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.
An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.
Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.
You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

I bought a second pair of Meindl walking boots as they are such a good walking boot, however when I received them they had scuff marks on them, I emailed Hill and Dale within 10 minutes of opening them, over a week later they emailed me back saying they can pick up scuffs up while in transit, in the box 🙄 but I wasn’t born yesterday hence the bad review, it’s obvious they have been tried on and ended up with scuffs on them and then sent back and then been resold as brand new boots! I could see where they had tried to polish the scuffs out as it was shiny around the scuffs, obviously they are walking boots and are going to get scuffed but that doesn’t make it right to get them brand new with scuffs on them. They are not cheap boots and should come brand new…
Hill and Dale offered to replace them but they left it that long to reply that I’d ended up wearing them so can’t be returned now, I won’t be buying anything else from them, I’d rather pay more money to another company that can actually deliver brand new boots.
Been out 3 times in my new boots, was a bit sore on the first one but they are nearly broken in now after 20ish miles, unfortunately the pair i wanted weren't in stock but so happy that these were suggested as an alternative, absolutely love them and they were £60 cheaper, brilliant in store customer service, couldn't do enough for me, my hiking store of preference with out a doubt!!
Bought as a present for my dad whos usually a 12 but 13 in some brands, i went with a size 13 and they fit perfect. i was annoyed that there is a £40 difference between 12-13 i’ve never came across that before so thats why ive marked 4 stars not 5 delivery was bang on 10 days. other than that the boots are good quality and comfy and have good support for ur ankle with a cushion around the top and he said there not heavy.
Firstly let me say what a great shop Hill & Dale is, great value and non pressure selling.
Not to the boots, My first pair of Meindl boots, from the off they fit fantastic and true to size, 1st day 11 hours and never felt like taking them off, 2 weeks in and what a fantastic pair of boots we'll worth the £200 price tag, they feel to offer fantastic support and extremely comfortable, the Vibram sole gives you a positive and reassuring grip and from past experience with them on alternative boots and shoes they last well, in summary if you are looking for a superb made high quality boot you will not be disappointed, and looking at them being a longterm investment paying £200 for a pair of exceptional quality boots they will work out to be good value.
Fantastic and so comfortable straight out of the box.
These are my second pair of these boots. First pair lasted five years before one of the soles became detached. Overall a fantastic comfortable boot.

Replaced previous pair which were extremely comfortable. New pair initially caused blisters so will have to ‘walk them in’.
Great comfortable fit, sturdy Vibram sole and quality leather body. Meindl make my favourite footwear.

Found the wide fit on the shoes very comfortable. The sole is hard and sure footed. Leather is top quality and I bought the sportwax for long term care. Expect this to last a long time. Delivery took around 10 days as my size was out of stock but the wait was worth it.
Perfect boots for me, brought the mens not the ladies as had a pair before, and over a decade later the fit and quality is just as good and I can't find better. Excellent price in the sale and just what I'd been hoping and looking for. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, great on any terrain or in any weather. Love them!
These are my fourth pair of Mendel boots, they have all been fantastic. Used every day walking dogs and more. Never had leaks in the worst of conditions and fit like a glove from day one.
This is my 3rd pair of Bhutans and they offer unrivalled comfort, protection and durability. Expensive yes, but you get what you pay for with footwear.

Excellent Boots. So comfortable. Good customer service but after waiting because of delayed delivery to the shop. You sent them to me instead of to my son. This caused confusion as I was away!

Good boot, good ankle support
Great product which i particularly like, as i have purcgase several of the last frw years.
Early days but really pleased with the boots so far. Quality product that is comfortable to wear from the box. Not the lightest boots I've ever worn but not too noticeable when walking. Good grip from the soles and upper is supportive. Not fully tested in the wet but they feel like they will keep my feet dry. Excellent value at the offer price. Great service from Hill and Dale as well.
The only place I buy my Meindl boots from. Always competitive on price and speedy delivery. Used them for years.
I found they are quite stiff for the first few wears, though they’re getting more comfortable the more they’re worn. I read in the description that they had memory foam round the ankle - it would be nice if it was used as an insole as well, as they’re pretty hard underfoot. I realise these are categorised as a “B” - which makes them very rigid (I prefer a more barefoot feel to the soles, but I’ve yet to find a make that doesn’t end up leaking). Consequently they tend to tip sideways when walking on uneven rocks giving an unbalanced feeling. They’re ok offroad on most surfaces, hard stone, mud, moss, gravel etc. just a bit ankle bending on uneven rocky surfaces (like river bankings, screes & washouts etc). Not as comfortable as Scarpa (which leak & have poor grip Vibram soles unfortunately), or Lowa (same problems as Scarpa), or most comfortable, inov8, ( brilliant grip, but their waterproofing is atrocious).The Bhutans appear very good quality. Time will tell!
