The Men's Guffert GTX Extra Wide Hiking Boots are top end, premium hiking boots designed for people who like or need that little extra volume in their walking boots. Meindl call this the Comfort Fit collection which not only have a wider fit but a more comfortable footbed than other rivals. The foot bed is made from natural cork which is lightweight, insulating & extremely comfortable, especially when it's layered with fleece like the Gufferts.
In addition to the ultra comfortable footbed Meindl use their MFS system which uses a clever system of compression and expansion to pull moist air from the boots whilst injecting cool air. The MFS system also moulds to the shape of your ankles giving you a tailored boots after a few hours of walking.
That's the comfort side taken care of now onto the performance of these walking boots. Meindl have teamed up with Gore-Tex to make the Guffert boots totally waterproof and breathable so that whether the weather is warm, wet or both your feet stay comfortably dry.
All in all these hiking boots are the ones to look out for as Meindl really have ticked all the boxes from performance to comfort.

Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion
