In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.

Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.

Fantastic little tent for one person camping.
The poles are very flexible and even though they're strong, they can bend in high winds. You can double up the poles, so my advice would be to get a spare set just in case you need to double up.
The Helm 1 is not the lightest one person tent out there, weighing in at just under 2 kilos but it is a very robust, well built and sturdy. It is outstanding value for the price and matches more expensive tents in reliability. This is purely a one person tent but has useful, decent storage space

Exactly what I was looking for with regards to size and practicality. Easy to pitch and very sturdy in winds. I love the storage hatch and the ample vestibule. I prefer to separate the poles and carry them on the side of my pack, this way the tent packs down really well and leaves more room in my bag for other items. Excellent value!

Easy to order and timely delivery thank you Hill & Dale. Have successfully ( and quickly) erected the tent in the house. Very pleased so far. Hopefully it will be all I require on my forthcoming wild camping trip in the Pyrenees.

First rime I have used Hill and Dale and very pleased with the service. Tent shipped next day with shipping detail and arrived couple of days later. Have used this tent on Northumberland Coastal route and it performed excellent. Easy and quick to put up and pack away, good headroom, plenty of room for gear and felt very sturdy. Not the lightest tent at 2kg, (this is the only negative point), but for the money is an excellent buy. Highly recommend.

I store the tent and poles separately in my rucksack so I have more room. Yet to experience heavy rain and strong wind but I feel confident it will stand up to the conditions
You will not find a better tent for the price. I have only used the tent twice but I am very pleased with my purchase. The helm compact 1 is very easy and quick to erect. The pegs look and feel good but I'm not sure how they will deal with some typical British wet and windy weather.
Great tent for the money highly recommended it to anyone its advertised as a 3 season tent but I use.it as a all year round tent I can cope with alot
If you’ve seen this tent on YouTube, you’ll know it handles weather extremely well and punches well above its weight and price point. Buy with confidence and from Hill and Dale who have been excellent to deal with. Fast service and keen price for a quality product from a British company. Just wish it had been made here too!
used it twice so far and it’s brilliant, strong in wind and dry not bad room either very impressed with the space to hold your bag boots etc and also room to cook if needed

Excellent one person tent, very easy and quick to erect, well made and well designed - a nice feature is the small double zipped access & mesh ventilation opening (extra storage space) on the rear inner wall of the tent. Also, with two securing holes at each end of both crossed poles it would be possible to double pole it for very windy weather (perhaps only a second red pole needed?) Everything considred it's a great tent with the only mark against it being it's weight, which comes in at just under 2 Kg... but that isn't too much really considering how sturdy it is.

I'm really pleased with the Wild Country Helm 1 Compact I purcjhased from Hill and Dale. For a one man tent it has plenty of space and plenty of headroom too. Its very well designed and constructed and I look forward to using it for many years to come.
I can’t fully review the tent since all I have done so far is erect it in the garden. I am however very impressed with how easy it is to pitch; it took less than 10 minutes out of the bag. Very well proportioned for a 1 man tent with enough space to keep kit dry overnight. Equally impressive is that it packs up small.
